Hi, I’m Mackenzie—the baker behind Drippin’ Cakes!
I’m a wife, mom of three, and home baker based in the beautiful Texas Hill Country in Dripping Springs, Texas. I earned my degree in Studio Art from The University of Texas, and creativity has always been at the heart of everything I do. My passion for baking took off when I became a mom, planning birthday parties and creating special cakes for my children. Word quickly spread around the neighborhood, and what began as a fun hobby quickly grew into my small home baking business, Drippin’ Cakes.
Our story
In 2024, I started Drippin’ Cakes as a fun little side hustle while being a stay-at-home mom to my two young daughters, who were 3 and 1 at the time. Making cakes wasn’t part of the plan. After years of working in event planning and design since graduating from college, I was actually getting ready to return to the event industry. Little did I know, I was about to take my career in a completely different direction.
I’ve been baking cakes for family and friends for as long as I can remember, but I truly fell in love with cake decorating in 2020 during COVID. Then, in 2024, I baked a special, whimsical fairy cake for a neighborhood friend. That one cake led to a couple more opportunities, which led to a couple more, and the rest is history. I quickly realized this was becoming something much more than a fun little side hustle.
I decided to put event planning on the back burner and go all in on creating custom cakes for our Dripping Springs community. It has been one of the best and most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. I love meeting new people in our community each week, building personal relationships with my clients, and, most of all, seeing the excitement on their faces when they pick up or receive their cakes. Being able to play a small part in someone’s special celebration is something I never take for granted.
Today, I’m a mom of three (5 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old ), and I love sharing my passion for baking with my kids in the kitchen. We have big plans for Drippin’ Cakes and lots of exciting ideas for the future, but for now, I am incredibly grateful to be home with my kids while growing this little home baking business that has become so much more than I ever expected.
I specialize in custom cakes, cupcakes, and, most recently, cookie cakes. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll usually find me chauffeuring my kids to school & activities, taking a workout class, enjoying a margarita on a restaurant patio, watching a sports game, or spending time with my family & friends.
